Kentucky Bourbon Distillery Tour
About the Kentucky Bourbon Distillery Tour
Each Kentucky Bourbon Trail Distillery Tour will start out at 11:00 AM at the Barrel House Distillery located at 1200 Manchester Street near downtown Lexington (just west of Rupp Arena). We will tour Barrel House craft distillery, which is much smaller than some of the larger distilleries. There will be a bourbon tasting after the tour.
The tour will leave Barrel House approximately 12:15 PM. We will drive toward Frankfort, KY to tour Buffalo Trace Distillery, stopping at ‘The Castle’ (a real castle in the Heart of the Bluegrass) along the way. Our stop here will only be for 15 minutes, during which we will get a quick history of the castle and hear about what their plans are for the future, as well as some picture opportunities.
Our next stop will be at Buffalo Trace Distillery (around 1:15 PM). Lunch will be available to purchase here. Our tour will begin at 2:00 PM and will last approximately one hour (so be sure to wear comfortable shoes). When the tour ends, there will be a tasting which will last about 30 minutes. We will start heading back to Lexington around 4:00 PM, and will arrive back to Manchester Street around 5:00 PM.
This will conclude the tour, but there's lots more to do in the Distillery District on Manchester Street: Crank & Boom (a gourmet ice cream shop), a few bars (The Breakroom and Ethereal Brewing), a few restaurants (Goodfellas and Middle Fork), and the James E. Pepper distillery.
The cost of this tour includes all admission fees. Lunch is not provided, but is available for purchase at Buffalo Trace Distillery.
All ages are welcome on this tour, but you must be 21 or older to try any of the bourbon tastings.
All Ages: $77
